Texas Fun Facts

We all love our great State of texas, and we wanted to share some fun facts with all of you. If you can think of any that should be on our list, write them in a comment below and we will get it added to the list.

1. The term "maverick" derives from a famous Texas lawyer and pioneer, Samuel A. Meverick.
2. The Dallas/Fort Worth Airport is home to the world's largest parking lot.
3. Texas, at one point or another, has been under the control of the following political bodies: Spain, France, Mexico, Republic of Texas, The United States of America, and the Confederate States of America. The term, "six flags over Texas," refers to these transitions.
4. The first word spoken on the moon was, "Houston."
5. The Texas Star Ferris wheel is the largest in the Western Hemisphere.
