Tips For Driving Safely Around Emergency Vehicles

We wanted to share some tips on how to safely drive around an emergency vehicle. Especially when one is not expecting it, an emergency vehicle's presence on the road can cause some confusion. Hopefully these tips help you make the right moves and stay safe on the road.

1) Slow down and avoid making any sudden turns or swerving immediately to the right on the road.

2) Ensure that you are not impeding the flow of traffic in lanes next to you and merge when it is safe to do so.

3) Once stopped on the shoulder, flip on your emergency blinkers until the emergency vehicle has passed.

4) If an emergency vehicle is stopped, with responders in the street, slow down and pass as far away from responders as possible.
