Party Red Rock: 2012 Kia Soul Red Rock Special Edition in Showrooms

The 2012 Kia Soul that was unveiled at last year’s New York auto show was no ordinary Soul — not only because it featured the brand’s newest iteration of its more powerful, efficient direct-injection engines, but because it was the Korean automaker’s seventh special edition Soul, and it wasn’t available until now.

Due to popular demand, Kia has rolled out another limited edition party-rock-mobile onto showroom floors, and instead of looking like the spooky Ghost Soul or the star-stamped Hamstar edition, the newest Soul resembles the beautiful backdrop of the American Southwest. Inspired by the red rock formations that decorate the region, the Red Rock Special Edition Soul wears unique colors in and out.

Special Canyon exterior paint distinguishes the Red Rock special edition from other models, along with a black front fascia and unique side mirror housings. Inside, two-tone seats wear black leather and brown cloth trim, and the same black-brown color theme continues on the dash and on other appointments. Standard equipment includes automatic climate control and heated front seats, and Kia has priced the Red Rock Special Edition at $21,350 (including $750 destination fee).

The Soul has continued to be one of Kia’s top sellers, and the Red Rock special edition follows the likes of the Ignition Soul, Denim Soul, Shadow Dragon Soul, Ghost Soul, White Tiger Soul, and Hamstar Soul in keeping the box-car funky and fresh.
