This is the future of automobile manufacturing and as always, Kia is at the forefront. This is truly going to revolutionize the way vehicles are made moving forward.
Kia said it designed the Niro from “the ground up as a dedicated hybrid” to satisfy two growing markets: low emission vehicles and compact SUVs. The Niro is also one of the first vehicles to be launched under Kia’s new green car initiative, which includes plans for six other models to be added over the next five years.
A “downsized hybrid platform” will be powering the Niro, with electrification from a single 32-kilowatt electric motor and a 1.56 kilowatt-hour lithium-polymer battery pack. The 1.6-liter Kappa gasoline engine features direct injection and an output of 104 horsepower, with a six-speed dual clutch transmission.
“The main focus of engineering teams’ efforts behind the development of the new model is to deliver class-leading fuel economy in the compact SUV segment,” said Kia, adding that the Niro “will combine a stylish SUV design with greater fuel economy than its rivals, with a target CO2 emissions rating of under 90 gram/kilometer (combined, based on the New European Driving Cycle).” Production for the Niro is set to begin in late 2016, with initial deliveries planned for “overseas markets,” though Kia declined requests to clarify if this meant Europe, the U.S. or both. Sometime later, a plug-in hybrid Niro will also be added.

2009 Kia Sorento LX
Long ago, sport-utility vehicles replaced the station wagon as the quintessential family hauler. In the beginning, truck-based, body-on-frame SUVs were all there was. But car shoppers' desire for a more mild-mannered city SUV eventually gave birth to the crossover -- an SUV based on a passenger car. Nowadays, it seems like crossovers will eventually inherit the Earth. But one vehicle that has kept in touch with its traditional SUV roots is the five-passenger 2009 Kia Sorento.
The Sorento, like most traditional truck-based SUVs, is built on a sturdy body-on-frame chassis and has a solid rear axle suspension. This allows it to tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped, about 1,500 pounds more than most other small and midsize crossovers can handle. Opting for the four-wheel-drive model gives the Sorento a decent amount of off-road ability, too, thanks to its low-range gearing. This is still a modern Kia, though, with a choice of two capable V6 engines, an impressive list of standard features, attractive styling and substantial warranty coverage.
Alas, this old-school approach leaves the 2009 Sorento somewhat outclassed in terms of all-around polish. Its lackluster fuel economy, less-than-stellar brakes and trucklike ride make it seem out of touch with what most people want out of a small or midsize SUV these days. While the Sorento is a capable alternative to the similar-in-concept Jeep Liberty, we think you'll probably be happier with a dedicated on-road crossover like the Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander or Toyota RAV4. And if you really do seek an old-world SUV with substantial off-road prowess, we think the Nissan Xterra and Toyota FJ Cruiser are better and more desirable choices.
Options are conveniently bundled in two packages. The LX Value Package includes a sunroof, 16-inch alloy wheels and leather upholstery. The EX Luxury Package includes a sunroof, automatic 4WD if so equipped, heated front seats, an in-dash six-CD changer, automatic dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and automatic headlights. Stand-alone options for the EX include 17-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler.
The base model is offered only with two-wheel drive, while the LX and EX can be had in either two- or four-wheel-drive configurations. The Luxury package-equipped EX model features an automatic "Torque-On-Demand" 4WD system that can automatically engage the front wheels for improved all-weather performance.
Regardless of which engine and two- or four-wheel-drive combination is selected, the EPA estimates virtually identical fuel economy across the entire Sorento line. A two-wheel-drive model with the 3.3-liter V6 should return 16 mpg city/22 mpg highway and 18 mpg in combined driving, while the 3.8-liter V6 is rated at 15/21/17 mpg. Opting for 4WD versions drops mileage by about 1 mpg.
The Sorento's steering feel, however, is satisfying and there's a minimum of body roll when cornering. Thanks to the Sorento's low-range transfer case and truck-based origins, off-road excursions can be tackled with relative ease, but the Sorento's capabilities still fall short of those possessed by more competent vehicles like the Xterra and FJ Cruiser.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2009 Kia Sorento is a midsize SUV offered in two trim levels: LX and EX. The Sorento LX comes standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, air-conditioning, full power accessories, cloth seats and a 10-speaker sound system with a CD/MP3 player. The more powerful EX tacks on foglamps, heated side mirrors, leather seating, a power driver seat and wood-grain interior accents.Options are conveniently bundled in two packages.
Powertrains and Performance
The 2009 Kia Sorento is available with two engine choices. The base model and LX are powered by a 3.3-liter V6 that produces 242 horsepower and 228 pound-feet of torque. The EX receives a 3.8-liter V6 with 262 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Properly equipped, the LX can tow up to 3,500 pounds while the EX can lug up to 5,000 pounds. All Sorentos feature a five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. The base model is offered only with two-wheel drive, while the LX and EX can be had in either two- or four-wheel-drive configurations. The Luxury package-equipped EX model features an automatic "Torque-On-Demand" 4WD system that can automatically engage the front wheels for improved all-weather performance.

Opting for 4WD versions drops mileage by about 1 mpg.
Safety
All 2009 Kia Sorentos, regardless of trim level, feature antilock disc brakes, full-length side curtain airbags, stability control, traction control and driver knee airbags. In government crash testing, the Kia Sorento was awarded the highest possible score of five out of five stars for frontal and side impact protection for all occupants. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Sorento its highest rating of "Good" for frontal-offset crashworthiness, but in side-impact testing, the Sorento received the IIHS's worst possible rating of "Poor."Interior Design and Special Features
Despite its modest pricing, the 2009 Kia Sorento exhibits solid build quality with decent interior materials. The front seats are comfortable and controls are simple enough, but the overall look and design of the interior falls a bit behind the times. The rear bench is wide enough to accommodate three adults, but taller passengers may find legroom lacking. The versatile 60/40 split rear seats fold flat for about 66 cubic feet of cargo space, which is a bit less than what's offered by top crossover competitors.Driving Impressions
With either V6 under the hood, the 2009 Kia Sorento has plenty of power for both city traffic and swift highway cruising. The suspension provides a pleasant ride and adequate handling on smooth pavement, but when the road gets rough, the ride gets bouncy, with a good deal of the bumps transmitted directly into the cabin. The Sorento's brakes might also be a cause for concern; in previous testing, we noticed significant brake fade after just two panic stops from 60 mph. Drivers who plan on any traversing of mountainous roads should keep this in mind.

According to Kelly Blue Book, Kia Optima Leads the Way
Kelly Blue Book is still the standard to go by when you are looking to purchase a vehicle. They don’t throw around awards lightly and when they do hand one out, you can be assured that it is well deserved. So when it came to handing out the award for the midsize car best buy award, they put their stamp of approval on the 2016 Kia Optima.
“The Optima’s success has come through constant improvement. Throughout its life this sedan has persevered to be better, evolving from an also-ran when it debuted 15 years ago to what it is today: a refined, advanced, rewarding to drive midsize sedan with luxury looks at a mainstream price.” Wrote KBB on its site. “The all-new 2016 Kia Optima is even more focused, besting not only the outgoing model but edging out rivals in one of the market’s most competitive segments.”
It was redesigned with comfort and convenience of the consumer in mind. Even the standard trim includes features like height adjustable passenger seat, stain resistant interior and compatibility with Android and Apple. It also offers plenty of space for passengers and cargo. It has made great strides to become more family friendly since its inception. The new look with an all new front and rear featuring the signature tiger nose grille Kia is becoming known for has made a huge impact on the appearance.

Kia Brings Out the Thunder
It doesn’t matter what your favorite basketball team is or even what brand of car you drive. We can all agree that giving back to kids is an honorable way to spend your time and your money.
That is why I was stoked to hear about Kia teaming up with the Oklahoma City Thunder. They came together and dedicated an outdoor basketball court to the Boys and Girls club of Norman Center for Children and Families. As you can imagine this time of year, it can get a little chilly outside but with the warmth something like this does on the inside of you, no one really minded. This was the 11th basketball court that the Thunder Cares Foundation has either built or renovated. The kids got to swarm the court and shoot hoops with a couple of NBA players.
“This court is a vital addition to our organization,” said Fitzgerald. “The court will bring fun and great joy to our children and serves as a symbol to the children of our community that the Thunder cares about them and supports their dreams for the future.”
Few of the adults on hand were immune from helping to keep the play going as the evening stretched on. Jesse Herrera with Kia Motors America passed and rebounded as he watched so many young faces light up using the court that Kia, in partnership with the Thunder Cares Foundation, helped to build. “This is our second court refurbishment project over the last few years (with the Thunder), and seeing the smiles on the kids' faces makes it all worth it. We hope this court provides many smiles for years to come,” Herrera noted. For the Thunder, the night represented everything that its community programs stand for: fun, fitness and fueling dreams.

2016 Kia K900
The 2016 Kia K900 is luxury redefined. There is no way you appreciate the feel of this car without getting in it and taking it around the block for yourself.
This car maintains some of its main design and functions. For instance, the upcoming design has similar grille however it gets less abrasive exterior angles. Its headlights meet the grille similar to the present K900 however the headlights are more rounded. Another obvious redesign is in the fog lights as they have become a trapezoidal style from the existing vertical design which makes this offering seem more mature.
The rear overhang is likewise a bit large which results in more cargo space. It gets terrific appearances thanks to the use of LED technology in its lighting system and Xenon for its low beam, in addition to LED strips that run across the whole back. Steering is covered in leather just like the equipment shifter. The interior devices consist of dual zone environment control, 8-inch display, internet services, audio system, satellite radio and other modern day auto functions. For safety it also comes with accident alert system, airbags, traffic alert system, blind zone detection system just to name a few.
The 420 horse power pumping out with 376 lb./ft. peak torque is coupled with an eight speed automatic transmission. It has a fuel tank capacity of 19.8 gallons. It has an EPA rating of 23/15 which is pretty good for a V8.
As I said, it is one you have to see to appreciate. Come down and check it out today at Van Griffith Kia 4301 Hwy 377 E Granbury, TX or give us a call at 817-573-0400 today!

2009 Kia Optima LX
Like Red Sox third baseman Mike Lowell, the 2009 Kia Optima is an out-of-the-spotlight player that's fully capable of delivering the goods when need be. Rather than dazzle those in the stands with either a deep-center homer or a struck-out-swinging-for-the-fences at bat, Lowell is more apt to hit a single or double and get a few runners across the plate. And though the Optima isn't capable of making a great catch and starting a double play like Mr. Lowell, it likewise boasts a subtle, well-rounded character that's easy to like -- for those willing to take notice.
Previously, we described the Optima as being "styled by the witness protection program." Kia actually listened to our criticism, and some visual tweaks have been made to the 2009 Optima to make it look, well, less inconspicuous. But under the generic yet attractive enough styling is an admirable car that offers a lot to the midsize-family-sedan shopper, such as strong crash test scores, a lengthy features list and a well-crafted interior.
Following the Kia philosophy of offering maximum value, the Optima comes well-equipped for such a low price. In fact, a fully loaded EX V6 with leather, heated seats, premium audio and sunroof doesn't crack $24,000, which is about five grand less than similarly equipped rivals such as the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry. Of course, those competitors, as well as every other car in this segment, offer a more powerful V6 engine than the Optima. Although the Optima's V6 has been upgraded to 194 hp for 2009, it's still down by as much as 76 horses compared to the strongest entries. On the upside, the standard four-cylinder has also been improved and boasts class-competitive power and fuel economy.
Overall, we think pretty highly of the 2009 Kia Optima. Though lacking the higher levels of refinement and performance found in the Accord, Altima and Hyundai Sonata, the Kia shines as a well-made, well-rounded choice at a low price, especially when compared to four-cylinder models like the Chevrolet Malibu, Ford Fusion and gradually slipping Toyota Camry. As with the Red Sox third baseman, the Optima may not be the most ballyhooed player in the game, but considering how competent this Kia is, it certainly belongs on your scouting list of top prospects.
Standard equipment on the LX includes 16-inch steel wheels, air-conditioning, full power accessories, a tilt steering column, and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player, satellite radio and auxiliary and USB audio jacks. LX models with the optional automatic transmission gain keyless entry, cruise control and a tilt and telescoping steering wheel with audio controls.
The Optima EX adds (to the LX) 16-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, chrome door handles, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, an eight-way power driver seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a trip computer and further upgraded interior trim. The SX adds 17-inch alloy wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, a blacked-out grille and headlight trim leather and cloth seating, aluminum cabin accents, and sport pedals.
A handful of optional, trim-level-specific packages can add equipment. Those for the EX and SX trims offer luxuries such as a power sunroof, a power passenger seat, heated front seats, a manual rear-window sunshade, power adjustable pedals and an upgraded audio system with a subwoofer and a six-CD/MP3 changer. A navigation system is a stand-alone option on the EX and SX trims.
Fuel mileage estimates are 22 mpg city/32 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined for the four-cylinder (both manual and automatic) and 20/28/23 for the V6.
Crash test scores for the Optima are top notch. The government gave it a perfect five stars for front and side impact protection, while the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it the highest possible rating of "Good" in its frontal offset crash test. The IIHS side impact test resulted in a second-best "Acceptable" rating.
There's plenty of legroom up front, and the seats are well-shaped and supportive with nicely padded bottom cushions. Legroom is good in back as well, but those seat bottoms are a little short, offering less support for long-limbed occupants than many rivals' accommodations. Trunk capacity is 15 cubic feet, and all Optimas have a 60/40 split-folding rear seat.
Thanks to its tightly tuned suspension and relatively communicative steering, the Kia Optima has a somewhat sporty feel around town, especially the new SX model. The trade-off is that this Kia ultimately doesn't feel as luxurious as more plush-riding midsize sedans. In addition, if you start pushing it harder in the corners, that sportiness goes away quickly, something that might be cured with a set of performance tires. However, most folks won't be looking for all-out sport sedan athletics in this segment. Used as a daily commuter and family car, the Optima provides more entertainment behind the wheel than one would rightly expect.http://vgkia.com/inventory/details/Used/2009-Kia-Optima-Granbury-TX/17311

Powertrains and Performance
The base engine on all 2009 Kia Optimas is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that makes a competitive 175 hp and 169 pound-feet of torque. Available on the EX and SX trim levels is a small-for-the-segment 2.7-liter V6 that produces 194 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on the LX. Optional on the LX and standard on the EX and SX is a five-speed automatic transmission.Fuel mileage estimates are 22 mpg city/32 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined for the four-cylinder (both manual and automatic) and 20/28/23 for the V6.
Safety
Standard safety equipment includes front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, antilock brakes, stability control and traction control.Crash test scores for the Optima are top notch. The government gave it a perfect five stars for front and side impact protection, while the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it the highest possible rating of "Good" in its frontal offset crash test. The IIHS side impact test resulted in a second-best "Acceptable" rating.
Interior Design and Special Features
Like the exterior, the 2009 Optima's cabin isn't a standout in terms of visual presentation. However, it counters any lack of character with simple control layouts and good interior materials. On both counts, it outdoes better-known competitors like the Toyota Camry, but not the Accord and Sonata.
Driving Impressions
Between stoplights the 2009 Kia Optima V6 feels plenty powerful, but that engine runs out of steam as the rpm climb. Passing power is adequate but unimpressive for a V6 in this class, and the five-speed automatic is reluctant to downshift. Thankfully, there is a manual mode when you want some extra punch. Given the boost in power it received this year, we'd therefore recommend the base four-cylinder engine for most buyers, as it provides fully adequate performance while keeping the price and fuel consumption low.

5 Maintenance Tips for Spring
1. Check your windshield wipers. Icy windshields have likely created some extra wear and tear on your wipers and reduced the flexibility in the rubber. Since reliable wipers are a necessity, make sure you check them over every three months.
2. If you drive with all season tires, take the time to check the tread depth this spring. You don't want to find out your tires are worn because you've started hydroplaning on a rainy day. Adjust the air pressure to the recommended inflation for your tires and book a tire rotation to prolong the life of your tires and keep you safer on the road.
3. Change the oil. Ask about the benefits of switching to synthetic oil.
4. Clean the exterior thoroughly. Take some extra time really clean the undercarriage area where road salt can cling. An especially thorough cleaning is necessary to avoid rust.
5. Top up your fluids. After operating during cold temperatures, your vehicle's transmission fluid, window washer fluid, coolant and power steering fluids should all be checked.
Customer Review
My experience today on buying a car was a great one. I felt so welcomed the second I entered the building. Michael Garr was very sweet and understanding and wanted to give me everything he could in a car. I will definately come back and buy from this place again. I will refer all my friends and family that are looking for a car to this dealership. - Natalie Desormier (read more) http://qoo.ly/4yx75
